whats a good tombs build because i dont have a good guild right now so all i can do is join iway and minion factory and all they have got me is a tiny little 45 fame and a whole lot of waisted time... What is a good tombs build i can use? That would be easy enough.. to find. Like what is this balnced teams thing i hear about . That may sound like a silly question but i am really sick of iway and mf some1 please help

Your best bet would be playing with your guild, or trying to find a good group. As you said, Tombs are INFESTED with IWAY. 5 out of my 8 games tonight were iway, getting on my nerves. I've also seen many spikers. Ranger spike, Chain lighting/lighting orb spike, Shatter/shadow strike spike. A balanced team would be something with, uhm... 3 Monks, and a mix of the other clases. Something like 1-2 warriors, a mesmer or two, necros.. you get it.

Todays HoH builds include: IWAY, IWAY, IWAY , IWAY, ranger spike, IWAY, minion factory, IWAY, IWAY, balenced

But to answer your question. Trying playing in a spiker/trapper team. I heal in alot of spiker teams and I really enjoy it, plus since ive recently got majorly into tombs ive gotten rank 1 in two or three days from spiker pugs and guild spiking groups.

Ask the guilds that are winning a lot lately:

Not Your Typical Guild

Patient Relaxed People

The Morning After

Skill Pvp

The Friar's Roast

Perhaps they aren't all guilds, but see what builds these teams are running. The first two win a LOT.

thanks alot of your replies. I have seen these lightning spike and ranger spike teams and i will give them a go because iway is boring and mf is hopeless >_<.
just a quick question: Do guilds nowadays usually look for someone playing more than about 2 hours a day because if so im not gonan be able to go that way >_>

I'd recomend finding a casual guild that participates in PvP. They exsist.

Good luck finding a GOOD casual guild, but hey...

yes and most of the builds that teams that hold halls for hours arent anything near what youd expect. they are builds in which its almost impossible to kill them. aka holding builds.

but to answer the OP's question the most common builds youll see are:
IWAY (every other match and had occasions of it every match)
Ranger Spike
Minion factory
Balanced Builds (occasionally)
Shadow/Spiteful spike
Chain/orb spike
a few others i forgot, too used to seeing IWAY lately

You'll really need to get to rank 3 before you can play anything other than iway with some success. Balanced groups are my favorite but they only really work with R6 + groups. Rank 1's and 2's won't have all the necessary runes and skills unlocked to make a balanced group work, and random ranger spike groups usually wont take you too far.

Every spiker has to be on the same page, if one spiker misses the count, or cant follow targets quickly enough, it messes it up for the whole team.

Id stick to iway for now, its the best way to farm for fame early on, iway your way to rank 3 then you can start looking for a decent non iway team that will work.

Also check out the international districts. American districts have 90% IWAY groups.

A balanced team would look something like

2 heal monks
1 prot monk
1 earth elementist
1 interupt ranger
1 energy denial mesmer
2 tigers fury warriors

Theres plenty of other combos out there, just have to test a bit to see what works best.

A few quick things, the correct name for the first guild you mentioned is Not Your Ordinary Guild [nyog]. And second thing, [pRp] has been running 2 air spikers, 2 trappers and 1 warrior lately (Skillz Pvp's build) because it's a lot of fun to smash the buttons from time to time.

If you are pvp'ing without what you need unlocked, why pvp? You have no counters for this in a match.

IWAY gets frustrating after a while - not so much because it requires very little skill but because it's all you ever see.

As for asking guilds that have been winning it a lot recently. There's "Your Maths Teacher" - seen them holding quite a lot as of late.... they run an IWAY type thing :-\.

Ranger spike doesn't bother me because it's not _that_ common yet, not compared to IWAY anyway - and it also requires at least a little bit of communication

Out:

Spike Teams : Not common anymore, partly because every team brings infuse health nowadays

In:

Balanced Teams : They are making a comeback and rightly so
IWAY : Yes IWAY is here to stay and doing well for themselves
Surge Teams : Everyone hates them but they are still around.

Easiest way to pick up fame early on and get some funny wins is to run an EoE (edge of extinction) bomb group. Just need a party set up to do about 100-150 damage to a few of the other teams members.. the more the better, then all sac at once, while having someone either mo/x or x/mo use mark of protection to survive the sac and res everyone with light of dwayna afterwards. Best bets for skills to do the damage would prolly be something like chain lightning, esurge, obs flame on 3-4 targets, tons of stuff one could do here. To sac, Illusion of weakness is def the safest choice ... only need to hit the button once as oppose to blood rit or other nec sac methods. Catches to this build are the EoE getting getting interupted/ killed to fast, or the mo not getting mop up, but when it works fights last like 30secs. Only maps that are a real pain with this build are relic runs... which take a bit more effort but can still be done. Id also advise not to run this with any necros... some teams stack up on necs and its a giveaway, try and be as random as possible with classes to confuse the other team bc the more offgaurd they are the better this will work out.
